So gesehen sind Jazzmusiker vielleicht „echte“ Männer, denn das Spielen mit dem Material gehört zu den ureigensten Attributen ihres Tuns. Während die Mehrheit der Konsumenten froh ist, wenn das Stück genau so klingt wie sie es kennen und damit zufrieden sind, begeben sich Ernst Bier und Joe Sachse durch ihr gefährliches Spiel (das sie Improvisation nennen) in abseitige kriminelle Gefilde des ungesunden Individualismus. Wie meinte doch der große Gerhard Polt: „In der Demokratie wird keiner in eine Minderheit gezwungen. Jeder hat die Freiheit sich der Mehrheit anzuschließen.“ Und um mit Kurt Tucholsky zu schließen: „Im Manne ist ein Kind versteckt, das will spielen“ zitierte er

While the majority of consumers are happy if the piece sounds exactly as they know it and are satisfied with it, Ernst Bier and Joe Sachse, through their dangerous playing (that they call improvisation), are going into off-beat criminal realms of unhealthy individualism.
