Ob sie nun im Duo mit David Murray Kompositionen von Thelonious Monk, mit Rudi Mahall Sachen von Eric Dolphy oder mit Silke Eberhard Ornette Coleman-Klassiker interpretiert, Takase ist immer überraschend eigenartig. Subversive Stärke schimmert durch, radikal, verschmitzt, uneinnehmbar. „Die Musik kann stärker werden, je länger und intensiver die Musiker zusammen spielen“, sagt Takase.

mit einer auf Erschwinglichkeit und Experiment ausgelegten Infrastruktur scheint heute die Jazzmetropole zu sein, in der das möglich ist.
Und für Takase zählt, dass man seine Sache beherrscht, und dass man sich in das Kollektiv einbringen kann. „Mein Motto für diese Band ist, dass während des gemeinsamen Spiels gleichzeitig neue Zusammenhänge konstruiert werden. Das Trio ist nicht auf die Begleitfunktion reduziert, sondern dient als großer Impuls für die beiden Bläser.“
